Queen of Swords

The Queen of Sword is all about getting down to business. Their world is a no-nonsense zone, favoring directness and a logical approach to problem-solving.

This card asks you to see your situation rationally: step back, be even-handed, and try and look at the issues with an impartial eye. Check your emotions at the door.

In dealings with people, observe and present the facts. If you’re focusing on goals, research, gather information, and create a plan. The Queen of Sword’s vision is clear and precise. Get analytical with your approach.

I tend to group this card with Justice, although the Queen’s personality is more seductive. If things aren’t going their way, they’ll turn on the wit and the charm while dishing out their ruling, even if their judgment doesn’t benefit the person standing before them.

As you embody the Queen, know your conclusions are right. Your assessment is fair. Stand unwavering in it.

The Queen does not tolerate disrespect. They’ll give a thousand mega-watt smile while doling out a death blow to their enemy. The Queen is bewitchingly firm.

In fashion with the energy of the element Air and the Suit of Swords, the Queen’s strength is in communication, writing, knowledge and research, and debate. This makes her great at self-advocating and working in fields where heated negotiations occur.

The Queen of Swords can also represent visibility. You might be presenting your ideas or sought after for your knowledge. Trust that your expertise will benefit your community.

Swords also represent defense and attack. You might be guarding your heart or your position or, conversely, fighting dissenting voices and taking a moral stand on an issue.

When drawn reversed, the Queen of Swords loses their voice, strays from better judgment, or alternatively, becomes mean, biased, and selfish. You might need to draw on your fierceness or, on the other hand, examine your motives; you might be stuck in your viewpoint and lacking empathy. You might also expect too much from others (or yourself!).

Like all Court Cards, the Queen of Swords can represent someone around you, depending on the question.

The Queen advises confrontation, outspokenness, and the courage to stand by your instincts and observations.
