The strangest tarot reading I’ve ever done was many years ago at an event I was working at in downtown Chicago. It was one of those casual walk-up situations where a venue paid me to provide readings to their customers.
A young couple sat down, and the gentleman told me he wanted a reading because he’d never had one, but he wasn’t sure what to ask. “What’s been most on your mind?” I asked.
He began telling me his woes had been with his teeth. He had many problems with his mouth and wasn’t sure what to do despite many dental visits.
I told him I was unable to answer medical questions, but maybe the cards could shed some light on his own intuition regarding the situation.
I thought, well, this will be interesting! A tarot reading about teeth. Never done that before.
I shuffled while meditating on the question and how to best help the querent. The card I drew out of the deck was the Ten of Cups, but in the reversed position.
Immediately I saw the cups as his teeth and his smile. I mean, look! Do they not look like teeth in the context of this question?
The psychic hit that came through was that he was being told different things by different dentists about what to do. The card’s reversal suggested that the whole mouth did not need surgery.
I came to this conclusion because the “mouth,” aka Cups, were reversed. I saw this as his mouth intact and its reversal, the protection of his mouth.
So I asked: Had one dentist told him that the surgery would not be required on the whole mouth?
He answered Yes, and that he had received differing opinions.
Dentist #1 had said that he would need surgery affecting his entire mouth, whereas Dentist #2 had said that a minor surgery could fix the problem.
Then he confirmed he had been leaning towards Dentist #2!
My read on the cards was correct.
And he was grateful for something that seemed to confirm his intuition.
I then closed the reading by reminding him that he should not base his decision on my tarot reading but on what he felt was right after working with medical professionals.
I also suggested he get a third recommendation.
So there you have it! The weirdest reading I’ve ever done. And what fun it was.
